  • Interior Kit Questions:
    1. Are these complete seats?

    • We do not sell any of the physical seats. We only sell replacement upholstery which will replace the existing upholstery in your vehicle. The seat frame and foam will stay in place while the old, stained or ripped covers on your current seats will be removed and our interior package will be installed in it's place.
    2. What is included in an upholstery kit?

    • Our interior kits are designed to supply our customers with a kit which replaces all the upholstery on the seating areas. This means that our packages on the website are priced to include all the pre-sewn covers needed to reupholster all the seats in your vehicle. Example: An minivan, like a Honda Odyssey, with three rows of seating will be priced appropriately on the website to include all the covers for all three rows.
**There are only a few exceptions to this rule in which we will contact you before any order is processed to tell you if your vehicle is one of those exceptions. The exceptions are mainly on older vehicles that were built before 1990. On these vehicle, we will occasionally only have the front seats available.
    3. What if I only need a part of the upholstery kit? Can I purchase just certain parts?

    • Our interior kits are manufactured to give the customer the greatest savings when purchasing the whole kit. We can however sell only certain parts of the interior as might be needed by the customer. These prices vary depending on the pieces needed. Please call us at 1-866-NEW-SEAT and we can work out a quote on the pieces that you might need.
**As a side note, we do not suggest replacing only pieces of your interior because our colors while very similar to factory colors are not exact. Our leather is also going to be different in texture and so it will not be an exact match. It is always best to replace as much of the upholstery as possible so that color matching will not be much of an issue and so that you do not have a clash between old worn-out leather and brand new leather.
    4. Do you have pictures of your upholstery kit in my vehicle?

    • We do have a large picture archive of interiors that we have built over the years. It is not possible to put this entire archive on our website so if you do not find what you are looking for within our gallery then please email us with your name, telephone number, vehicle details, and your picture request. Please allow us 24-48 hours to respond and we will let you know if we have any pictures of your interior.
    Leather and Color Questions:
    1. Are your interior kits 100% leather?

    • Our interior kits made be purchased in many different leather/vinyl combinations starting with 100% vinyl and goin up to 100% leather. Our most popular packages are the Deluxe and Premium packages which are two packages that are very similar to most factory leather interiors produced by original equipement manufacturers.
    • Our Deluxe package can be described as full leather seating surfaces on the front buckets with matching vinyl on the sides and backs of the seats. The second row in a Deluxe kit is leather inserts with vinyl surrounds, sides, and backs. This is on par with many of the manufacturer's industry standards.
    • Our Premium package is identical to the Deluxe package in regards to the front buckets. However, the second row is upgraded to leather seating surfaces so that there is more leather in the rear bench. Below are two diagrams which illustrate these differences.
    • Our 100% Leather package and 100% Vinyl package are both self-explanatory. These kits are made completely of either leather or vinyl depending on which package you purchase.
    • **We are currently only offering the Deluxe package leather kits on our website. If you are interested in any of the other packages then please call us at 1-866-NEW-SEAT and we can get your order over the phone.

    2. What type of leather do you use? How durable is your leather?

    • All our upholstery kits are manufactured from automotive grade, vat dyed, top grain leather. Automotive grade means that this leather is specifically designed to stand up to the extreme elements and daily wear that automotive leather is expected to endure. Vat-dyed means that the hides are not surface dyed by any means but instead are actually dyed all the way through. Top grain means that this leather is not only soft and supple, but it is also the extremely durable so that it will last for many years to come. We stand behind our raw materials as you can tell by our warranty.
    3. How do I know which color will match my interior?

    • Color choice can be a very tricky part of the order process because color is so subjective. It is so subjective because there are so many variables which can effect the way that color is seen. The biggest variable when trying to pick colors over the internet is going to be monitor settings. The age and settings of a monitor can drastically effect the hue or shade of the color. This variable makes it almost impossible to be 100% accurate in picking colors based on a color square. Color is also variable even in a person's physical eye because of the way the eye and brain translate the color. One customer may consider a certain shade of tan to be too brown for their interior while another person may consider it a perfect match. Below is an example of this principle in action. Here we can see the color swatch on the left and the actual color in the vehicle on the right. Depending on your monitor settings, these colors could look identical or quite different.

    • Slate Chrysler 300

    • The best way to eliminate these variables is by contacting us for color suggestions or for pictures. For most vehicles, we are able to offer a suggested color match for your interior and this can usually be confirmed via pictures as well. For example, the Chrysler 300 pictured to the right is shown in Slate. If you are to look closely at the plastics on the side of the seat, you will see the original color of the interior. The plastics in the interior will remain the factory color while the upholstery will be replaced. Now look at the color of the plastics versus the color of the leather. You can see quite clearly that this is a very close match and this color, Slate, is our suggested match for Chrysler 300s with Medium Khaki interiors. Please contact us with any further color questions or requests for color suggestions and pictures.
    4. Can I receive samples of your leather before I purchase?

    • Yes. If you are having trouble finding the right color for your interior, or if you just want to see the texture and thickness of the leather before you buy then by all means email us. We are willing and able to send out FREE samples to any future customers. To request samples, please email us your name, mailing address, type of vehicle, and the colors you would like to see and we will mail them to you as soon as possible.
    Installation Questions:
    1. How do I install your interior kit?

    • Our interior kits are completely sewn and ready to be installed. They can, therefore, be installed by any do-it-yourselfer or taken to a professional upholstery shop.
**There are a few kits that have special plastic pieces which must be transferred from the old upholstery to the new upholstery. Any of these special needs are very minor sewing tasks and can be done locally for under $15.00 in most areas.
    2. Can I install these myself? How hard is it to do? Will I need any special tools?

    • Our interior kits were designed for the do-it-yourselfer in mind so our kits are pre-sewn and ready to be installed. Installing an upholstery kit is a fairly involved process however it is definitely doable by a mechanically inclined person with a free weekend. The installation is not one that requires a lot of sweating underneath a greasy car, but can easily be done within the comfort of your house in front of the television. This process requires you to remove the seats from the vehicle and then to remove the original upholstery covers. Most people think that the covers are stitched onto the foam, but actually the covers are just attached by little metal rings, velcro, and/or plastic clips. The covers can therefore be removed without damaging them in most cases. The installation of our interior kit is the exact reverse as the removal of your factory upholstery so while you are discovering how to remove the old upholstery you are actually learning how to install the new upholstery. There are some more specific instructions on our installation section. I would describe this task as something that a fairly competent shade tree mechanic or very determined learner should be able to complete over a weekend. Reading through these general instructions will give you a good idea of what will be involved and how hard the task will be. The instructions also list a few special tools which you MIGHT need. Most of the newer vehicles are becoming more and more simple to reupholster so your vehicle will determine which tools you will need. Please confirm this by calling or emailing to talk to a sales rep about your specific installation. **NOTE: There are a few specific models which require some sewing or are very difficult so please contact us concerning your specific interior before making any in-depth plans.
    3. Do you send instructions with your interiors? How long will it take me to install these myself?

    4. I dont feel comfortable installing the interior myself. Where can I get my new interior installed?

    • If you do not feel comfortable with installing the interior on your own then you can contact any local upholstery shop in your area. These shops are generally listed under the Automotive Upholstery section of your local phone directory. You can also search online quite easily by typing in Automotive Upholstery and your zip code. When calling these shops for a quote, it is best to tell them that you have a "pre-sewn, ready-to-install leather interior kit" from LeatherSeats.com. They will also need to know what type of vehicle it is. With these two pieces of information, you should be able to get a rough quote from each of the upholstery shops in your area. It is always good to make sure you get a good price, but it is just as important to make sure you are comfortable with the work of your installer. Installing is straight forward, but a well practiced installer will produce the best result.
    5. How much should I pay for installation by a professional?

    • Installation by a professional varies quite a bit from area to area. As far as general pricing, the average professional should be able to complete a two row installation in about 6-8 hours depending on the difficulty of the interior. The rates for each shop will vary, but a good average price for installation on a two row vehicle is $450-$650. Some areas of the United States could be significantly higher than this because of the cost of living.
    6. Do you install at your facility? How much would you charge to install the kit for me?

    • We do installations here at our facility in Oklahoma City. The pricing of our installations will vary depending on the vehicle and the work being done, but in general most two row vehicles will run around $450-$550 for installation.
